Optimization of Fractional Order PI Controller by PSO Algorithm Applied to a Grid-Connected Photovoltaic System

With the increasing integration of renewable energies into power grids, their control and quality are becoming main focus many research efforts. In a grid-connected photovoltaic system, strategy is necessary to efficiently use solar energy as well ensure high quality. This paper presents study on robustness Fractional Order PI controller based Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (PSO-FOPI) in PV system. The used was integrated inverter apply voltage-oriented (VOC). order controllers have an additional degree freedom, so that wider range parameters available provide better control. Parameter optimization FOPI classical performed using PSO algorithm. performance compared with controller. A complete behavior grid connected system tested MATLAB/Simulink. simulation results show efficiency PSO-FOPI terms rapidity, stability precision, THD reduction current injected for any variation irradiance.
